Re: rH negative
Tue, June 24, 2008 - 4:36 PMIn some states midwives are allowed to administer rhogam, in others a doc has to do it. You can choose to see a doc for that portion of your care if midwives can't administer rhogam where you live. Any midwife can do a blood typing test as soon as the baby is born. Most that I know just use eldoncards. -

Re: rH negative
Thu, July 3, 2008 - 3:15 AMIt's a very simple product to administer and it should not interfere with your wonderful, joyous, peaceful homebirth at all. If you babe is Rh- as well, then yay, no worries!! Good luck!

Re: rH negative
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 6:19 PMI am rH negative and when he was born they took a sample of cord blood (when the cord stopped pulsating). My son has the same blood type as me. :-) If your baby is also negative you don't need rhogam.
