born on 7-12, an 8 lb. 8 oz baby boy, approximately 40 hours after one acupuncture treatment and a bath in clary sage. That's a big boy, and healthy as a clam. His due date was July 24th but my instints told me now. Thanks for all the support. You can see him at peacehealth.org baby news. His name is Gabriel Francis Red Feather.

Re: vbac success!! three cheers for acupuncture!!!~
Wed, January 9, 2008 - 6:37 PMFor anyone out there who is willing to undertake this adventure, the only advice I would give is to do it at home. The risks are so low, and the only problem I had in giving birth was that the doctor kept coming in and saying "your uterus is going to rupture!! If it hurts, that's bad!! " I freaked, and the midwife calmed me down. I had some other very scary brushes with the nurses and the doctors, and seriously, if I had done this at home, it would have been much better. Your courage, and your body, and your baby, are all you need. Thanks to everyone on this tribe for your support and comments, Gabriel is now 20 lbs and the happiest peacefulest baby I have ever seen. I know now what I missed with my first son, who was a csection. No regrets, just awareness. -

Re: vbac success!! three cheers for acupuncture!!!~
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 9:08 AMi had a home birth VBAC, and yes, I agree with your sentiment about the difference in attitude between the doctor and the midwife regarding rupture. I never at one point felt like my uterus was ripping, and hell ya it hurts. Sheesh!
From a psychological standpoint, I remember my midwife doing alot of counseling about my fears regarding birth, and rupture wasn't one of them because I knew it was safe.
again, congrats. Isn't birth COOL???!!!! -

Re: vbac success!! three cheers for acupuncture!!!~
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 5:44 PMand did you know their heartbeat was supposed to fluctuate during labor? Man, what a concept!!! Getting your head squeezed out of a 10 centimeter hole along with the rest of your body makes your heart beat fluctuate!! i get so mad when I watch those baby shows and the nurse freaks out about it, I just wanna go in there and shove them all out of the way and say HEY IT'S NATURAL!!!!!!! But anyway, yes, birth is the greatest and I would totally do it again. All natural, again. -

Re: vbac success!! three cheers for acupuncture!!!~
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 7:02 PMthey should be freaking when the baby's heart doesn't fluctuate. Actually, that's worse. Yes, the Ac/Dc are totally normal and it's annoying how they get all worked up. And... watching the tape continuously doesn't help the "freak out" factor either.
